United States Issues Urgent Warning to Its Citizens in the Middle East

Al-Taj News – The U.S. Embassy in Israel issued a security alert on Tuesday warning U.S. citizens in the Middle East of the “possibility of unexpected escalation.”

The security alert published on the U.S. Embassy’s website stated: “Due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex, with the possibility of unexpected escalation.”

The embassy added: “Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and maintain a high level of vigilance, and be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and possible disruptions to travel.”

It noted that some airlines in the region have postponed resuming their previous flight schedules, while others have canceled some routes, urging Americans in the region to consider departing or be prepared to depart in the event of escalation.

The embassy stressed the importance of “checking flight departure status directly with the airline,” urging Americans outside the Middle East to seriously reconsider traveling to or through the region.

It called on those traveling from or to the region to follow information regarding airport and airline operations.

The embassy added: “U.S. diplomatic facilities have been targeted, including facilities located outside the Middle East. Iran and groups supporting it may target other U.S. interests abroad or locations associated with the United States and Americans around the world, including other U.S. companies and institutions.”
